The Model 831 is a Class 1
hand-held sound level meter. Options include
Automatic Data Logging, Exceedance-based
Logging analysis for community noise
assessment, 1/1 and 1/3 Octave Band
analysis, Industrial Hygiene and Sound
recording.
For
unattended noise monitoring event-based
logging routines provide time/data;
duration; average and maximum/minimum sound
levels with digital sound recordings
associated with each event. Most
measurements are simultaneously obtained and
processed for display via Live, Overall or
Any Level display pages. All frequency and
detector settings are available as
simultaneous measurements.
Time History provides the
Model 831 with the capability to
automatically store (log) large numbers of
acoustic and non-acoustic parameters over
user-selected time intervals from 20ms to
24hrs. Ten customized markers
are provided to annotate Time History data.
Measurement History provides
for the following user-selected time
duration measurement data to be stored
and recalled for display:

Industrial Hygiene is an optional
measurement function available when optional
firmware is enabled. A display for sound
exposure, two displays for noise dose and a
display for SEA is available.
Audio and Voice recording/playback is a
feature supported by 1GB of on-board memory
and optional USB 2.0 memory data stick.
